Do I need an appointment for lab testing?
In most cases, an appointment is recommended so our team can confirm which lab tests
are needed and prepare for your visit. Contact HealthWell Family Health to schedule
on-site laboratory services in Forest Hills, Queens.
Do I need to fast before blood work?
Some blood tests require fasting, while others do not. Fasting may be needed for
certain cholesterol, glucose, metabolic, or hormone tests. Our office will let you
know ahead of time if fasting is required.
What types of lab tests are available?
Common on-site lab testing may include routine blood work, cholesterol testing,
diabetes monitoring, thyroid testing, vitamin and mineral levels, hormone testing,
urinalysis, infection testing, and health screening panels.
How long does it take to get lab results?
Timing depends on the type of test. Many routine lab results may be available quickly,
while specialized testing may take longer. Your provider will review results with you
and explain what they mean for your health.
Will my provider explain my results?
Yes. Your provider will review your lab results in the context of your symptoms,
medical history, medications, and health goals. The goal is not just to collect numbers,
but to use them to guide better care.
Can lab testing help with chronic conditions?
Yes. Lab testing is often used to monitor diabetes, high cholesterol, thyroid disorders,
kidney function, liver function, anemia, vitamin deficiencies, hormone levels, and other
chronic health concerns.
Do you accept insurance for lab testing?
Coverage depends on your insurance plan, the tests ordered, and medical necessity.
Our office can help answer questions about insurance and lab testing before your visit.
What should I bring to my lab appointment?
Bring your photo ID, insurance card, medication list, and any lab orders or forms
provided by another healthcare provider. If you were asked to fast, follow the fasting
instructions given by our office.
